Ryleigh Elise was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Sarasota in 2016 to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design. During her final year at Ringling, she reached out to Oddity to pursue tattooing. She began her apprenticeship under Matt Helmer at Oddity’s Anna Maria Island studio in 2020 and has been tattooing ever since.
Ryleigh loves to learn, experiment, and take on fun new ideas. She also loves dogs. Her strongest styles are black-and-grey realism, illustrative work, and fine line, but her range also includes portraits, traditional, Japanese, geometric, watercolor, and tribal or Polynesian-inspired work. She enjoys tattooing animals, botanicals, skulls, horror, fantasy, pop culture, ocean imagery, memorial pieces, mandalas, and plenty more.
For Ryleigh, tattooing is about connection and self-expression. She likes to bounce ideas back and forth with each client until they find what feels right, then shape the design around the project and placement. Her goal is to keep the experience comfortable, personal, and collaborative.
Her advice is simple: take your time, because the best ideas aren’t rushed. She also reminds clients that protecting a tattoo from the sun is one of the best ways to help it age well.
Ryleigh works in both color and black and grey, welcomes projects of all sizes, enjoys script, accepts cover-ups, and takes walk-ins when availability allows.
Ryleigh’s rate is $175 per hour, with a $100 minimum.
