Getting a tattoo at Oddity is a collaborative process — not a transaction. Here's exactly what happens from first message to healed ink.

THE CONSULT
A consultation is a short meeting — usually 10 to 30 minutes — between you and your artist before any tattooing happens. Think of it as a planning session where you and your artist get on the same page.
What happens at a consult:
✦ You share your idea, reference images, and any inspiration
✦ Your artist asks questions and gives honest feedback
✦ You discuss placement, size, style, and what will work best on your skin
✦ Your artist gives you a price and time estimate
✦ You pick your appointment date

At the end of your consult you'll pay a deposit to hold your appointment. *Retainers are typically $100–$200 and go toward the final cost of your tattoo — they're not an extra charge, just a commitment from both sides that the appointment is happening.
RETAINER POLICY
✦ Your retainer is deducted from the total cost of your tattoo once completed — it's not an extra fee
✦ Retainers are non-refundable but are transferable with at least 48 hours notice before your scheduled appointment
✦ Retainers expire 8 months from the original appointment date
✦ Retainers are forfeited in cases of no call/no show, very late arrival, or rescheduling with less than 48 hours notice

Your retainer secures your artist's time. Our artists' livelihoods depend on scheduled appointments — please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot make your appointment. We understand life happens and will always do our best to work with you.

YOUR APPOINTMENT
This is the day. Your artist will have your design ready. You'll see it, give feedback, and once you love it — the tattooing begins.
Day-of tips:
✦ Eat a full meal before you come — seriously
✦ Stay hydrated — good skin takes ink better
✦ Wear comfortable clothing that gives access to the area
✦ Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before
✦ Bring your ID and any remaining reference images

After your session your artist will wrap your tattoo and walk you through aftercare. You'll pay the remaining balance at this point — your deposit has already been applied.

HEALING
A tattoo is a wound and healing takes time — typically 2 to 4 weeks for the outer skin and up to 3 months for full deep healing. The short version of aftercare: keep it clean, keep it moisturized, stay out of the sun and water, and don't pick at it.
What's normal during healing:
✦ Redness and swelling for the first 2–3 days
✦ Peeling and flaking in week 2 — totally normal, do not pick
✦ Itching — this is your skin healing, resist scratching
✦ Colors may look dull or milky while healing — they'll brighten
